DEEP IN THE WEST FJORDS OF ICELAND
This is the first preview of a project called “The Deep Fjord”. After more than five years of photo documentary in the west of Iceland, this project is soon coming to an end. This is the story of the inhabitants, the farmers and there surroundings, who live in a remote part of Iceland. After hundreds of years this community is soon coming to an end. Next year or 2010 this project will be revealed with a book and a exhibition

Thorvaldur Örn Kristmundsson has been a photographer for two decades and started as a press photographer. Covering major news events in Iceland and also in many parts of the world, his focus today is mainly photo documentary and fine art. Born 1970 in Reykjavik Iceland, Thorvaldur has worked and made stories for various agencies and magazines all over the world. He is working on several projects including a book on a life in remote places, still life exhibitions and a " NO HUMAN CONCEPT " that will take place in Iceland.
