WATER
Water is the most powerful force on the planet. It shapes and makes the earth what we consider the beauty of nature. It is the force of life. In a world which is surrounded by water the Iceland stands out to be one of the purest resources of water on the planet.

Thorvaldur Örn Kristmundsson has been a photographer for two decades and started as a press photographer. For many years Thorvaldur was Chairman for Icelandic Press photographers Association and also The Chairman for the Nordic Press photographers community. Covering major news events in Iceland and also in many parts of the world, his focus today is mainly photo documentary and exploring the photographic medium as an art form. Born 1970 in Reykjavik Iceland, Thorvaldur has worked and made stories for various agencies and magazines all over the world. After dozens of exhibitions, the focus is today mainly on several projects including a book on a life in remote places, still life exhibitions and, " No Human Concept " that will take place in Iceland. Finishing in 2011, "Deep Iceland-West Fjords" Project, Pyramides in Landscape and Kept from Time. A serie of exhibitions from "Deep Iceland-West fjords", starts this summer in Perspektivet Museum, Norway.
"Not only have I traveled to countries suffering war, followed major sport events, met kings and queens, world leaders and musicians, but also realised that it takes no more than the story of a simple life of one person to make it greater than the everyday headlines of world events.”
